HMD Global Unveils Nokia 1, Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 8 Sirocco Smartphones With Android Oreo

Well, the wait is finally over as HMD Global pulled wraps off its 2018 Android-powered Nokia smartphones. After introducing 11 mobile phones last year, HMD is back again for second innings this year. During the event, the company said that HMD Global is now the leading feature phone brand across the globe and even shipped 70 million Nokia devices in 2017. That’s a staggering number. And the company is ready to expand its product lineup in 2018 starting with the Nokia 1, Nokia 6 (2018), Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 8 Sirocco.

Nokia 1
As it was rumoured for a long time, the Nokia 1 is the company’s Android Go smartphone as it ships with Android Oreo (Go Edition). The Nokia 1 comes at a global price of $85 (approx. Rs 5,500) and features entry-level hardware. The Nokia 1 ships with a 4.5-inch WVGA display and it comes with swappable backs as part of the company’s Xpress-On trademark filing.

Nokia 6 (2018)
As everyone expected, the Nokia 6 (2018) just became global. The smartphone was launched in China last month, and it offers solid mid-range hardware. It has a 5.5-inch Full HD display and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 chipset. It boots Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box and is backed by a 3000mAh battery. It has a single 16MP camera at the back and comes in different RAM, storage options. Nokia also added Face Unlock feature to the Nokia smartphones. And it features wireless charging alongside the standard charging. The new Nokia 6 will be available in three colours and will be available starting April 2018 at a global price of 279 Euro (approx. Rs 22,200).

Nokia 7 Plus
The Nokia 7 Plus is the company’s first 18:9 display smartphone as it has a 6-inch Full HD display. It features a similar design as the Nokia 6 (2018) and comes with different shades for the camera module. It’s fair to say that the Nokia 7 Plus is one of the best-looking devices out there available in the market.
