The biggest telecom company in the country, Bharti Airtel has been in some rough competition with the Mukesh Ambani led telco Reliance Jio. After Reliance Jio released some new plans for the customers, Airtel is resisting the blow by revamping its Rs 149 plan. After the new changes, the plan will offer 28GB of 3G-4G data for the validity of 28 days. With the battle between the telcos heating up, Airtel is not backing off from the tariff plan competition. Although, the plan is made available in only select circles, but Airtel is expected to make it an open market plan in the coming days.

New Airtel Rs 149 Prepaid Plan Details
Airtel prepaid customers can check the revised Rs 149 plan availability for their number by heading over to Airtel website or through My Airtel application. So, what is new with the Rs 149 plan? Well, Airtel is now offering 1GB data per day, 100 SMS per day, and unlimited voice calls including roaming calls for 28 days.

Previously, Airtel used to offer 1GB of 3G/4G data, 100 SMS per day, and unlimited voice calls for 28 days. This change was made just a couple of days ago. Before this change, Airtel used to offer just unlimited Airtel to Airtel voice calls and 1GB of 4G data for 28 days.

So, that's a massive turnaround from Airtel. The telco also revised several other unlimited combo prepaid plans of Rs 399, Rs 199, Rs 448 and Rs 509. The Rs 199, Rs 448 and Rs 509 tariff plans now offer 1.4GB data per day for the validity period, but the Rs 399 tariff plan's validity is extended to 84 days from the earlier 70 days validity.

The Bharti Mittal-led telecom company revised the Rs 149 tariff plan because of Jio's Republic Day Offers. Still, Reliance Jio is ahead of Airtel with the Rs 149 plan as it gives 1.5GB data per day, as opposed to Airtel's 1GB data per day. Nevertheless, it's a positive sign for consumers that a leading telecom operator is looking to compete with a newcomer like Reliance Jio. However, it's not a good sign for Airtel though as the telco recently reported its seventh consecutive quarter profit loss.
