OnePlus 6 With Underglass Fingerprint Scanner Already Rumoured to Launch in March 2018

OnePlus is already working on its next-generation flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 6. The OnePlus 6, which will succeed the OnePlus 5T is already rumoured to launch in early 2018. A new report cited that the Chinese company is planning the OnePlus 6 release in March 2018 and it will come with fingerprint scanner under the display.

A report from GizmoChina cites that the OnePlus 5T (first impressions) will be one of the shortest flagship smartphones as per their sources as the OnePlus 6 will happen in March 2018. The launch of the device might happen in the middle of March, and the phone will be up for sale later the same month.

The report also says that the OnePlus 6 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, which is an expected thing as the previous generation OnePlus flagships arrived with lastest flagship chip from Qualcomm. There’s no information on how much amount of RAM will the device use, but there will surely be a variant of the OnePlus 6 with 8GB of RAM.

Also, the OnePlus 6 will come with an underglass fingerprint scanner. The OnePlus 5T has the fingerprint scanner placed at the back, thanks to the 18:9 display on the front. However, with the OnePlus 6, the company is looking for the underglass scanner. Vivo is rumoured to launch the first underglass fingerprint sensor smartphone at the CES 2018 event. Given the fact that both OnePlus and Vivo are headed by the same BBK Electronics, the news of OnePlus 6 having an underglass scanner might be a reliable one.

The publication also cites this news as a reliable one because of their source, but we still suggest you take this news with a grain of salt as OnePlus never launched their smartphone in March. Every year OnePlus launches a new flagship killer between May and June. Also, the device may not be called as OnePlus 6 because the company openly stated there are not interested in releasing devices with even numbers. In the past, the company had a terrible time with the OnePlus 2, which incidentally is the only OnePlus smartphone did not impress the audience.

If OnePlus launches the OnePlus 6 in early 2018 or as the rumoured in March 2018, the OnePlus 5T buyers will disappoint the most. The OnePlus 6, in many ways, will be a major upgrade. It will pack the flagship Snapdragon 845 SoC. Definitely, OnePlus will pack a better display and cameras, and this new underglass fingerprint scanner rumour is an icing on the cake.
