After launching its first ever dual selfie camera smartphone, the ELYT Dual two weeks ago, Intex, the homegrown smartphone brand has come up with yet another smartphone under the same series. Dubbed as the Intex ELYT e6, it is also focussed on selfie lovers who love to capture a lot of selfies on their smartphone. The Intex ELYT e6 is priced at Rs 6,999, and it also offers a 4000mAh battery under the hood.
Diving into the specifications of the Intex ELYT e6, it has a 5-inch HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and 2.5D curved glass on top. The highlight of the smartphone is the 8MP front-facing camera, which thankfully is also accompanied by a selfie flash. At the back of the phone, we get a 13MP camera which also has support for an LED flash.
At the heart of the phone, there's a 64-bit quad-core MediaTek processor with all the four cores clocked at 1.4GHz. The chipset is clubbed with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, which can also be expanded up to 128GB with a microSD card slot. Offering 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage at Rs 6,999 is a good move from the company.
Another highlight of the Intex ELYT e6 is the 4000mAh battery under the hood. With a beefy battery, mediocre chipset, and an HD display, the ELYT e6 might deliver two days worth of battery life. The smartphone runs Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.
Commenting on the launch of ELYT e6, Nidhi Morkonday, Director, Intex Technoiogles said,”Our special ELYT series launched this year has been well received in the market and going with the consumers’ response, we have launched ELYT e6 model, designed for the online platform (exclusively on Flipkart) for tech savvy youth. Having multiple features with a focus on multitasking and storage capacity, this tech marvel will surely prove to be a customer’s delight. We have further enriched our diverse product portfolio to stay ahead in time and made our offerings the best of all for our discerning consumers.”
Connectivity options in the smartphone include 4G LTE, VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS, and a micro USB port. Intex did not mention any fast charging technology used on the smartphone.
The overall package of the Intex ELYT e6 seems to be decent on paper, but the company should have gone with a Snapdragon processor as consumers will run away after seeing the MediaTek processor. At the price of Rs 6,999, the Intex ELYT e9 competes with the likes of Xiaomi Redmi 4 and Moto C Plus. Intex confirmed that the phone will be made available in both online and offline markets starting December 15.
