Taiwanese brand HTC is not the same brand which it was a few years ago, but the company is looking to get back into the game. HTC has stated that the Android 8.0 Oreo update for its flagship smartphone, the HTC U11 will be rolling out today. Unlocking HTC U11 users in the US will get the update notification very soon. You can head over to software update section in Settings app to check for the update manually.

Recently, HTC released the update for the U11 users in Taiwan. HTC's Vice President of Product Management, Mo Versi has confirmed the rollout news on Twitter and even said that they're working with carriers such as Sprint to roll out the update as quickly as possible. For now, HTC is rolling out the update to unlocking HTC U11.

Mo Versi also confirmed that the company is working on the Oreo update for the HTC U Ultra, HTC U10, and HTC U11 Life, but there's no estimated time for the update roll out for these phones though. It is still unknown whether the update rollout started in other regions or not.

The HTC U11 is a great smartphone, but it didn't receive enough attention from the consumers in the country. The U11 has a great design, especially, the Solar Red colour option looks stunning. HTC has added the best-in-class cameras on the U11, and the phone also has the top-notch hardware. The only downside with the smartphone is the bezels on the front, but the company recently launched a tweaked version of the U11, dubbed as HTC U11 Plus.

The U11 Plus is currently limited to only a few regions such as Taiwan. Nevertheless, it might make into other Asian markets pretty soon. The HTC U11 offers a 5.5-inch display, Snapdragon 835 chipset, 6GB of RAM, Adreno 540 GPU, 12MP rear camera, 16MP front-facing camera, runs Android Oreo, and a 3000mAh battery.

The smartphone also introduced a new technology called Edge Sense with which you can interact with the U11 by squeezing it. The HTC U11 is currently retailing for Rs 47,999 in the country.
