ZTE-owned Nubia has launched a new smartphone in the Indian market, namely, the Nubia M2 Play. The smartphone is priced at Rs. 8,999 and offers decent specifications for the asking price. Unlike other brands who're using MediaTek chips inside their smartphones, the M2 Play comes powered by the Snapdragon 435 chipset, which also powers the popular Xiaomi Redmi 4.

As seen with other Nubia smartphones, the M2 Play will also be exclusive to Amazon India and will be up for sale very soon. The M2 Play competes directly with the Redmi 4 and offers similar specifications as well. The smartphone has a 5.5-inch HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and 2.5D curved glass on top.

Internally, it is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 chip, which is an octa-core chip with four Cortex A53 cores clocked at 1.4GHz and another four Cortex A53 cores clocked at 1.1GHz. The chipset is paired with Adreno 505 GPU and 3GB of RAM. Nubia has added 32GB of internal storage to the phone, which is expandable up to 128GB with a microSD card.

The device comes laden with Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box with Nubia UI 5.0 layered on top. This dual SIM smartphone has a single 13MP camera at the back with f/2.2 aperture, along with a 5MP selfie camera with f/2.4 aperture. The front-facing camera also capable of shooting wide-angle selfies.

Connectivity options in the device include 4G LTE, VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/GLONASS, and micro USB port. The device has a 3.5mm headphone jack as well. The only let down of the device is the use of the smaller 3000mAh battery. The device has a metal unibody design.

Besides the battery capacity, the Nubia M2 Play seems to be a major contender with the Redmi 4. The Xiaomi Redmi 4 has a 5-inch display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 SoC, 3GB RAM, 32GB storage, 13MP rear camera, 5MP front-facing camera, MIUI 8 based on Android Marshmallow, and battery capacity of 4100mAh.

The Redmi 4 seems to be a winner than Nubia M2 Play with a smaller display and bigger battery. Which one will you purchase? Let us know by commenting below.
