Xiaomi is all set to introduce a new smartphone in the Indian market on September 5 in an entirely new smartphone series. The smartphone, which Xiaomi is going to launch in the Indian market is still a mystery. Various reports suggested that the smartphone will be the Xiaomi Mi A1 aka Xiaomi Mi 5X with stock Android.

Recently, it was reported that Xiaomi teamed up with Google for an Android One device made for the Indian market. The September 5 event of Xiaomi is a global event. The smartphone is reportedly said to be the Mi A1 with stock Android. Today, the same smartphone has been spotted on popular benchmark site Geekbench.

As I said earlier, the Mi A1 is the same Mi 5X which Xiaomi launched in China recently. And the Geekbench listing suggests the same. The Mi A1 in the listing is running Android 7.1.1 Nougat and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset, clocked at 2.0GHz. We're saying it as Snapdragon 625 chip because the motherboard number msm8953 is of the mid-range Snapdragon 625.

The chipset is accompanied with 4GB of RAM. The Mi A1 achieved a single-core score of 852 and a multi-core score of 3837. These are decent scores for a mid-range smartphone with Snapdragon 625 inside. This might be the smartphone Xiaomi is going to announce on September 5.

Until now, Xiaomi did not reveal a thing about what it's going to launch at the event. But the brand already confirmed that the device will boast of a flagship dual camera. The Xiaomi Mi 5X has the same camera setup of the flagship Xiaomi Mi 6, although with different aperture size.

It's safe to assume that the device will be the Mi A1, and it would be part of Google's Android One project. The pricing details of the smartphone and launch offers will be unveiled on the launch day itself. Nevertheless, expect some aggressive pricing for the smartphone, after all, it's a Xiaomi phone.
