What to Expect from Motorola’s Indian Launch on August 29?

Motorola, the Lenovo subsidiary, earlier today confirmed that it will be holding a launch event later this month on August 29. Motorola will announce its first dual camera smartphone for the Indian market- the Moto G5S Plus. For the unaware, Motorola recently unveiled the mid-range Moto G5S and G5S Plus in some countries. Both the smartphones are minor upgrades to this year’s Moto G5 and G5 Plus.

Motorola sent out a media invite asking to block the date and the invite clearly states the arrival of Moto G5S Plus. However, at this moment, it’s unclear whether Motorola will unveil the Moto G5S at the event or not. With the G5S Plus, Motorola is trying to cope up with the ongoing dual camera trend in the market. Here’s what the Moto G5S Plus brings to the table.

The Moto G5S Plus, as I have been saying is a minor upgrade to the G5 Plus. Let’s talk about the changes first: It sports a larger 5.5-inch Full HD display, compared to the 5.2-inch one seen on the Moto G5 Plus. The major change would be the camera because the G5S Plus has a dual camera setup at the back.

There are two 13MP sensors at the back of the phone with f/2.0, autofocus, dual-LED flash. Up front, there’s an 8MP wide-angle selfie camera. The G5S Plus will be Motorola’s first dual camera smartphone to launch in India.

Another change is that the G5S Plus boasts of a complete metal body, compared to the plastic side frame on the G5 Plus. A welcome upgrade though.
