Nokia 5, HMD’s take at an offline centric smartphone, is now available online as well. The Nokia 5 was initially launched alongside the entry-level Nokia 3 back in June, and both were the company’s offline exclusive models.
The Nokia 5 went on sale in India via select offline retailers just a few days ago on August 15, however, the phone was seen listed on a few online sites today. Interested buyers now have the option of purchasing the Nokia 5 on either Tata Cliq or Croma online retailers and will be ship within 4-7 days. The listing shows the Nokia 5 with an original price tag of Rs. 14,199 but is offering the device at a discounted price of Rs. 12,499.
Earlier, the Nokia 3 was also listed and available for purchase on Tata Cliq and Croma e-retailer websites, soon after its launch, at a price of Rs. 9,499. HMD is also bringing the Nokia 6 to India soon, and the smartphone will be available from Amazon India starting August 23.
The Nokia 5 features an all-metal aluminium unibody design and is available in only the Matte Black option online. The smartphone sports a 5.2-inch display with HD (720 pixels) resolution and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor under the hood. The SoC is clubbed with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, that can be expanded further up to 128GB via a microSD card slot.
The handset runs the Android Nougat 7.1.1 and HMD Global plans to roll-out the much-anticipated Android O update soon after Google releases it. In terms of connectivity, the Nokia 5 offers options like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, and micro USB port with USB OTG support along with support for 4G connectivity.
Further, the device comes with a 13MP primary camera with f/2.0 aperture, phase detection autofocus, and LED flash on its rear along with an 8MP front-facing camera with a wide 84-degree field of view for selfies and video calls. The device sips its juice from a decent 3,000mAh battery and is available in Tempered Blue, Copper, and Silver colour variants if you're buying it from offline retail stores.
