Confirmed: Huawei Mate 10 to Feature Bezel-Less Display Will Compete With Apple iPhone 8

Dual cameras have become a mainstream feature for smartphones in 2017. Almost every brand is going to the dual camera setup for their smartphones. And the other feature which is expected to go mainstream by the end of 2017 is bezel-less display. As of now, only major smartphone vendors such as LG and Samsung have launched thin bezel display smartphones.

Huawei Mate 9

Chinese smartphone brand, Huawei, who is constantly after the camera technology today confirmed that their upcoming flagship phone, the Huawei Mate 10 will have a bezel-less display, and will compete with the Apple iPhone 8. Recent rumours also suggested the same bezel-less 6-inch display for the Mate 9 successor.

Speaking with Bloomberg, Richard Yu, the CEO of Huawei has said that Mate 10 will compete with the tenth anniversary iPhone in every aspect possible. Also, Huawei will release the Mate 10 right around the announcement of iPhone 8, maybe in September. To be precise, Richard Yu is confident that Mate 10 will be a lot better smartphone than the Apple iPhone 8.

“We will have an even more powerful product. The Mate 10, which has much longer battery life with a full-screen display, quicker charging speed, better-photographing capability and many other features that will help us compete with Apple,” said Richard Yu.

Huawei’s CEO spoke to the media right after the company’ posting poor smartphone shipments this year until now. In 2016, Huawei shipped a total of 139 million smartphones, but this year, the brand has set a goal of shipping an excess of 150 million smartphones. However, at this pace, the company can ship anywhere between 140-150 million smartphones, which will be only marginally higher than last year.
