Xiaomi has already scheduled a launch event in China for July 26, where the company will unveil the Mi 5X and MIUI 9. Recently, an online listing gave away some of the key specifications of Mi 5X. And now, a listing in the company's official portal for pre-registrations has revealed the design of the smartphone.
The Xiaomi Mi 5X will feature a design similar to the iPhone 6 and 6s with chamfered edges. However, the differences will appear when we look at the rear camera. The Mi 5X will sport a dual camera setup at the back of Sony IMX386 sensor and a Samsung S5k3m3 sensor. With the Mi 5X, the Chinese company is looking to compete with rival brands such as Oppo and Vivo. Further, the device also resembles the Oppo R11 from the back, especially the Rose Gold colour variant.
Speaking about the colour options, the leaked renders show that the phone will come in three colours- rose gold, black, and gold. And the display size is expected to be 5.15-inch. The device has a fingerprint scanner placed at the back of the phone.
The earlier leaked image revealed that the Mi 5X would come in a single variant with Snapdragon 625 chipset, 4GB of RAM. It will carry a price tag of 1999 Yuan (approx. Rs. 19,000). The rest of the specifications of the phone are unknown at the moment.
Furthermore, at the same event, Xiaomi will be unveiling the MIUI 9 and the Mi 5X could probably the first Xiaomi device to boot the new OS. That being said, the MIUI 9 update will be based on Android 7.0 Nougat, which is expected to bring features such as split screen mode, quick reply mode, and advanced doze mode, etc.
Having said that, the Xiaomi Mi 5X may not make its way to the Indian market.
