Panasonic has priced the device at Rs. 8,499, and for the asking price, the device offers decent specifications. The smartphone comes with a 5.5-inch HD (720p) IPS LCD display with no mentioning of a protective layer on top. The device is armed with a 1.25GHz quad-core MediaTek MTK6737 chipset.

Panasonic has added a 3GB of RAM module and 16GB of internal storage to the phone, and the device also supports microSD card up to 128GB for storage expansion if you aren't satisfied with the 16GB internal memory.

Another highlight of the device is that it comes with a 13MP rear camera with Quad LED flash, a rarity in the price range. The other quad-LED flash phone available in India is the Tecno i5 Pro. The device is fuelled with a 5MP front camera, which unfortunately doesn't have any flashlight support.

Software wise, the P55 Max runs Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box with Panasonic's customised UI on top. The company has added a massive 5000mAh battery to keep the lights on for the device for longer durations.

The device has support for fast charging. For connectivity, the device has a dual SIM - 3G/4G LTE configuration, direct Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The phone comes with basic sensors such as an accelerometer, proximity, ambient light sensors, and even has support for USB OTG via the micro USB port.

Commenting on the launch, Mr Pankaj Rana, Business Head – Mobility Division, Panasonic India, said, “In today’s connected world, smartphones have become the lifeline drawing parallels amongst work-life balance. Be it home, work or, anywhere ZipPlay –understands and maps your need to help simplify your life. The long lasting 5000mAh battery further ensures the seamless functioning without interruptions. We believe P55 Max will be the quintessential solution-provider for individuals in the value-based smartphone segment.”
