The Asus ZenFone AR was launched in Taiwan last month in two variants – a 6GB RAM model and a massive 8GB RAM model. The Taiwanese company had constantly been hinting at unveiling the phone in India for quite some time now and going by the latest development; the Asus Zenfone AR will grace the Indian markets on July 13. The company started sending out press invites for an event on July 13 with the hashtag ‘#DareToDream’ along with the caption ‘Push the boundaries of your imagination’, which only leads us to believe that the Asus ZenFone AR will be launched on that day.

The Asus Zenfone AR is the world’s second phone to run with Google’s Project Tango, the first being Lenovo Phab 2 Pro. Notably, we will see better specs in the ZenFone AR when compared to the Phab 2 Pro. However, the ZenFone AR takes the title in being the first smartphone to support the Tango platform and being Daydream ready as well. It is also said to come with features like vapour cooling system to avoid overheating of the device.
For those not in the know, Google’s Project Tango combines the 3D motion tracking, area precision, and depth sensing into a distinctive blend of augmented reality and virtual reality. The Daydream, on the other hand, is a VR platform for Android devices that is built right into the operating system.
