Last month, Xiaomi's Redmi Pro 2 with dual camera design leaked and even got listed on the company' site. However, a new report from Weibo says that Xiaomi has allegedly cancelled the Redmi Pro 2. Instead, the company will launch two smartphones under new X series called Xiaomi X1.

Xiaomi is looking to launch two variants of the Xiaomi X1 in coming days. And the report even suggests that the Xiaomi Jason spotted in Geekbench a few weeks is also the Xiaomi X1. One variant of the Xiaomi X1 will have a wide bezel-less display, while the other variant will feature a regular screen.

One variant of the Xiaomi X1 comes with a 5.5-inch wide bezel-less display with a resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels. The smartphone is said to be powered by the recently announced octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset, clubbed with 4GB/6GB of RAM. The phone will come with have dual camera setup with either a Sony IMX362 sensor or IMX386 sensor.

The phone will also feature a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. The tipster also claimed the pricing of the phone- the 4GB of RAM, 64GB storage model would carry a price tag of either 1,999 Yuan (approx. Rs. 19,000) or 2,299 Yuan (approx. Rs. 21,880). The 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage option is said to cost 2,499 Yuan (approx. Rs. 23,800) or 2,799 Yuan (approx. Rs. 26,700).

The second variant of the Xiaomi X1 will come with a 5.5-inch Full HD display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. The smartphone will also be powered by the Snapdragon 660 SoC and will come with 6GB of RAM. Also, the tipster says this variant will also have dual camera setup, and the fingerprint sensor will be placed at the front of the phone integrated into the home button.

The 6GB of RAM and 64GB storage option of this variant will cost 2,299 Yuan (approx Rs. 21,900), while the 6GB+128GB storage option may cost 2799 Yuan (approx. Rs. 26,700).

Furthermore, the reason for cancelling the Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 might be the poor sales of Xiaomi Redmi Pro. Xiaomi had a dream run last year with the Redmi range of budget phones, but the Redmi Pro didn't impress the company. Also, the Redmi Pro never launched in India. The leak also says Xiaomi will launch the Mi 6 Plus and Xiaomi Redmi X1 with MIUI 9 this month itself.
