ZTE-owned Nubia has just announced a new smartphone called as Nubia M2 Play in its homeland China. The phone was silently listed on the company's website along with complete specifications. As the name itself suggests, the Nubia M2 Play is a downgrade to the Nubia M2 launched a few months ago.

Same as the other Nubia smartphones, the M2 Play also aimed at camera enthusiasts. Diving into the specifications of the phone, the M2 Play flaunts a 5.5-inch HD display with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels along with a 2.5D curved glass on top. The display further extends to a pixel density of 271 PPI.

The smartphone accepts two SIM cards and is a 4G LTE, VoLTE supported phone. Other connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, and a USB Type-C port. There's a fingerprint scanner placed below the display.

Hardware wise, the handset is powered by the Snapdragon 435 chip, paired with 3GB of RAM and Adreno 505 GPU. To recall, the Nubia M2 is equipped with the Snapdragon 625 SoC and 4GB of RAM. The smartphone is driven with 32GB of internal storage, which is expandable up to 128GB with the help of microSD card slot. And yes, the M2 Play features a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Coming to the imaging department, the smartphone is fuelled by a 13MP primary camera which is a Sony sensor, coupled with f/2.2 aperture and LED flash. UP front, there's a 5MP front-facing camera with smaller f/2.4 aperture, so don't expect any good selfies from the M2 Play. The selfie camera also captures 84-degree wide-angle photos.

The Nubia M2 Play runs Android 7.0 Nougat with Nubia UI on top. The entire package is backed by a 3000mAh battery. Nubia did not reveal when the smartphone will be available for purchase, at least in China. Also, this smartphone might make its way to the Indian market because of Nubia's aggressive approach with India in recent times.
