Motorola is said to be working on a plethora of new phones and the second generation Moto Z Play is one among them. There's a sad news for people who're waiting to upgrade to Moto Z2 Play from Moto Z Play because the rumoured specifications suggest the phone will be more of a downgrade than an upgrade.

And now, the device has been spotted on the popular benchmarking tool- GFXBench, which has revealed the key specifications of the device. Also, the benchmark specifications are in line with the ones speculated earlier. So, these may be the final specs of the phone.

The Moto Z2 Play might feature the same 5.5-inch Full HD display as the Moto Z Play, but the brightness levels may be increased. The Z2 Play will be powered by the Snapdragon 626 chipset, which is an octa-core chip clocked at 2.2GHz. The Moto Z Play came out with the Snapdragon 625 chip, clocked at 2.0GHz. The only difference between the Snapdragon 626 and Snapdragon 625 is the clock speed.

The graphics in the device will be taken care by Adreno 506 GPU, same as the one seen on Z Play. However, the significant upgrades can be seen in the RAM and onboard storage as it will come with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, compared to the 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage on the Z Play.

One more significant upgrade will be to the camera of the phone as the Z2 Play will have a 12MP rear camera, and it's the same setup seen on the Moto G5 Plus. The rear camera will be capable of recording 4K videos. Up front, the Z2 Play will feature the same 5MP camera, but this time there will be a dual-tone flash supporting it. The front camera will record videos of 1080p quality.

Till now, we spoke the upgrades in the Moto Z2 Play, but the major let down and the confirmed feature is the 3000mAh battery along with Quick Charge technology. That said, the Moto Z Play was known or the incredible battery life it offered and sadly, Motorola is taking it away.

It will come with all the necessary sensors such as the accelerometer, gyroscope, light scope, pedometer, and proximity sensor. The phone will also come with support for NFC.

The smartphone may be announced at the Computex event in Taipei next week. And later on, will be launched in India, but the launch date is still unknown. Also, Motorola India is teasing a launch of a new smartphone in India.
