The Google I/O 2017 is not the exciting ones out there and is one among the boring keynote conducted by Google ever. The search giant revealed its key upcoming projects and in the process spilled a word on the next flagship phone from LG.
Yes, we're speaking about the LG V30 here. Explaining about its Daydream VR project, Google’s head of VR/AR Clay Bavor said that the 'upcoming flagship phone' from LG would be Daydream ready and he also stated that the device would be released later this year. Obviously, Bavor is speaking about the LG V30 here.
Recently, some Korean media reports claimed that LG would include OLED displays in its forthcoming flagship phones, starting with LG V30, which will be released after the IFA 2017 conclusion in the first week of September. So, this report is indeed a real one as Daydream requires an OLED panel to function to make most of it. However, Bavor did not reveal any information about the LG's flagship phone and its display technology as well.
Furthermore, Google confirmed that Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ would receive a software update in coming days, which will make the devices compatible with Daydream. After all, the Samsung flagship phones have the power inside to handle the Daydream stuff.
That said, to handle the Daydream feature, the phone should boast of the top of the line hardware and the LG V30 might pack a punch in terms of hardware. It may get a 5.5-inch OLED screen with a secondary display as well. It may be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
Nothing is known about the device until now, but the South Korean giant will release the LG V30 to compete with the Galaxy Note 8. LG main motto with the V series is to give a compelling flagship with great audio prowess and to go against the Samsung's Note series and other flagship phones releasing at the end of the year.
