Samsung’s Galaxy J series smartphones have been doing a great job for the company in the last few years, at least in the offline market. The company is yet to announce the successors to the previous year’s Galaxy J smartphones. Also, there are plenty of smartphones to be released this year under the same Galaxy J series. And, the latest leak from Slashleaks shows that Samsung will launch a new variant of the Galaxy J7 called the Galaxy J7 Max.

A presentation slide of the phone has surfaced online, which allegedly shows the specifications of the handset. The Galaxy J7 Max will feature a 5.7-inch display with 1080p resolution. The panel used in the J7 Max will be a TFT screen and not OLED, which is rather interesting. Another noticeable leak is that the phone will be powered by a MediaTek Helio P20 chipset with a 1.6GHz octa-core CPU. Samsung may not be going with the Exynos chipset for the J7 Max as other Galaxy J7 (2017) devices are speculated to come with an Exynos chip.

The J7 Max could feature 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage which is expandable via a microSD card. The J7 Max will get a 13MP camera at the back with f/1.7 aperture and LED flash. The larger aperture size is quite surprising, and we expect the camera to compete with the likes of Moto G5 Plus in the mid-range segment. The phone will also feature a 13MP front-facing camera.

The smartphone will measure 8.1mm in thickness. Furthermore, the device comes laden with Android 7.0 Nougat based TouchWiz UI and supports Samsung Pay. A 3300mAh battery will back the entire package.

The leak also revealed the price of the phone. The Galaxy J7 Max will cost $311 (approx. Rs. 19,700) and is pegged to release in the second week of June. The device will be launched in India as well because India is one of the countries where Samsung sold millions of Galaxy J devices.
