Earlier today, a total of seven upcoming Motorola handsets have received Wi-Fi Certification from Wi-Fi Alliance. The model numbers of these devices are as follows: XT1721, XT1724, XT1725, XT1726, XT1770, XT1772, XT1773, XT1724. All these seven devices are powered by the entry-level MediaTek MT6737 SoC.

The chipset has a quad-core CPU and Mali-720MP GPU. Clearly, all the entry-level Motorola phones will be equipped with the same chip this year, and other hardware components will differentiate these smartphones. If you observe the model numbers carefully, the XT1773 is nothing but the Moto E4 Plus which was spotted earlier and has also received FCC certification.

The Moto E4 Plus could feature a massive 5000mAh battery along with a 5-inch HD display, 2GB of RAM, 8MP rear camera, and 5MP front-facing camera. The Moto E4 could also be a part of the list. It is expected to come with a smaller 2800mAh battery. The Moto E4 Plus will be the first Moto phone to feature such massive battery. Rest of the specs of the Moto E4 will be similar to the E4 Plus, but it may come in 1GB RAM variant as well.

Other phones could be the Moto C and C Plus, the so-called cheapest phones from the company. There were numerous speculations that Motorola will release new C series phones with low-end hardware to compete with Xiaomi’s entry-level Redmi phones in India and other countries. The Moto C may flaunt a 5-inch WFVGA display, whereas the C Plus will get an HD display.

The Moto C will pack 1GB of RAM and 8GB/16GB of internal storage. At the back, there will be a 5MP camera with LED flash along with a 2MP front-facing camera. The Moto C will have a 2350mAh battery. The Moto C Plus, on the other hand, will have an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing snapper. A 4000mAh battery will power the C Plus. If the rumours are believed to be true, the Moto C and C Plus will be priced under $80 (Rs. 5200).

There’s no official word on the launch date from Motorola yet, but they could start sending media invites soon. The launch could possibly happen in the first week of June.
