NEW DELHI: So, a news feast for Xiaomi fans out there. Firstly, Xiaomi officially announced that the company would be selling their famous Redmi Note 4 in the offline market as well starting March 18. To recall, Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 4 in India on January 19 and recently claimed that they had sold over 1 million units of Note 4 from the date of launching in India.

Earlier today, Xiaomi has announced that the Redmi Note 4 will be sold in 750 offline stores across the country and only the 2GB of RAM, 32GB storage variant will be sold offline for Rs. 11,499, whereas the same model is selling for Rs. 9,999 in online stores Flipkart and Mi.com.

Xiaomi has already started taking preorders for the phone offline as well, and the preorders will end of March 21. A customer needs to head over to the nearby major offline store such as Sangeetha, Big C, LOT Mobile for preordering the phone for Rs. 1,000. The phone will go on sale on March 22 from the stores mentioned above. And customers can get their hands on the device on March 18 itself if their area has any Large Format Retailers (LFR).

This is not the first Xiaomi device to be made available offline. The Chinese company, some months ago have sold the Redmi 3s as Redmi 3s+ in the offline market for Rs. 9499 and it was well received by the audience. That might be the reason why Xiaomi is taking this step.

Speaking at the launch, Vipin Raina, Head of Offline Sales, Xiaomi India said: "We spent 2016 building strong operations in our offline distribution and paving the way to bring innovation in our offline model. We started this with our direct to a retail model, and with the introduction of pre-order, we are extending our innovation to everyone."

Apart from this, Xiaomi fans have another thing to cheer about. Xiaomi India, a couple of days ago sent out media invites for an event to be held in New Delhi on March 20. However, the company did not reveal their plans on what they are going to unveil at the event.

And today, the company on their official Twitter handle has teased a new phone to be launched on March 20 as "Smart is mainstream - get Smarter. A new Redmi device coming your way on March 20. Stay tuned,".

Going by the tweet, it is pretty much clear that a new Redmi phone will be announced at the event, but again, there are no details on which phone will be unveiled. According to the media invite sent a couple of days ago, Xiaomi has highlighted the letter 'A' in the word 'SMARTER,' and it looks like A and numerical 4.

If our speculations are correct, the yet-to-be-announced Redmi phone might be the Xioami Redmi 4A, which was launched in China back in November 2016. Nevertheless, the Redmi 4 series has a total of four phones- Redmi 4, Redmi 4A, Redmi 4 Prime, and the Redmi 4X. Xiaomi might not launch all the phones in India.

The Xiaomi Redmi 4A comes with 5-inch HD display, Snapdragon 425 SoC, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, and a small 3030mAh battery. The Redmi 4A might be priced at Rs. 5,999 in India. But these are just our speculations.
