Mobile World Congress is round the corner, and despite this fact, rumors don’t seem to end no matter what. Just ahead of today’s launch, the Moto G5 was spotted on a Brazilian OLX listing along with the retail box and the set of accessories that accompany the handset.
To recollect, this is not the first time we are seeing the live renders of the Moto G5 (and Moto G5 Plus) as there were many design leaks (both press renders and in-hand images) before. All of these rumors, though, pointed at an all-metal design with a removable back to swap batteries. Also, the company is said to do away with the capsule-shaped camera setup at the back for a circular module similar to the one seen on Moto Z series smartphones. Moreover, the fingerprint scanner in the image renders seems to be more rectangular-ish with rounded corners.
The Moto G5 and G5 Plus, for the first time, will have a Lenovo branding on one of the sides. The Moto branding — a big ‘M’ will, of course, find a place for itself on the back.

Regarding hardware, the standard Moto G5 is tipped to feature a 5-inch Full HD display (with 441 PPI), 1.4GHz octa-core Snapdragon 430 chipset, 2GB of RAM, 32GB expandable onboard storage, 13-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel selfie camera, 2,800mAh battery.

Whereas, the Moto G5 Plus will reportedly feature a slightly large 5.2-inch Full HD display, 2.0GHz octa-core Snapdragon 625 chipset, 64GB internal storage space, 12-megapixel rear camera at the back, and a 5-megapixel shooter at the front for selfies and video calling. A 3,000mAh battery is expected to provide the juice for the device.
Both the handsets are expected to run Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box and offer support for Turbo Charging. Also, the Moto G5 and G5 Plus are said to have a water repellant coating.
In terms of connectivity, both the models should offer support for 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and other standard set of features.

As per the pricing, the Moto G5’s OLX listing revealed a price tag of USD 358 (roughly Rs. 23,849) for the 32GB variant. However, around EUR 189 (roughly Rs. 13,292) it was previously rumored that the smartphone would be priced lower than the Moto G4 at the time of launch.
For now, though, we can’t confirm the pricing details. However, you don't have to wait too long for the official pricing as the company will pull the wraps off both the handsets tonight at the MWC 2017 event in Barcelona, Spain.
