Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) Specifications

  • Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system
  • 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display, 1,920 x 1,080 pixels, 401 ppi
  • 13-megapixel primary camera (Samsung S5K3L2XX sensor), autofocus, LED flash, and 1080p video recording

  • 4,300 mAh battery

It looks like Samsung has understood the importance of good battery life as the new Galaxy J7 comes with a gigantic 4,300 mAh battery. Other specifications include a 5.5-inch display (most probably a Super AMOLED panel) with 1,920 x 1,080 pixels resolution. The device will comes with a 13-megapixel primary camera with a front-facing LED flash and 1080p video recording, and a 5-megapixel secondary camera.

In terms of processing prowess, the Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) will be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor (formerly Snapdragon 618) with Adreno 510 GPU and 3GB RAM. In terms of storage, there's 16GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot for further storage expansion. Overall, it looks like a pretty good mid-range smartphone, especially for people who want long battery life.

The Galaxy J5 and the Galaxy J7 have been selling pretty well in India, and both have very good battery life. Now, Samsung seems to be thinking to offer even better battery life with the 2016 variants of the Galaxy J series. Looks like only the Gionee Marathon M5 has a battery with capacity larger than the upcoming Galaxy J7 (2016), and Samsung has a better record of releasing software updates.

Samsung has been releasing newer smartphones with large battery capacities. It recently announced the Galaxy A9 with a 4,000 mAh battery, and the Galaxy J7 (2016) seems to be even better. If only Samsung can price it correctly, it could be a great device in the mid-range price category. What do you think about the Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016)?
