Oppo has unveiled a new smartphone in India today, known as Neo 5. The device takes forward the legacy of company’s ’Neo’ series, and the Neo 5 was announced globally in August 2014.
The Neo 5 comes with a 4.5-inch FWVGA IPS display with a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels, and is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor paired with 1GB of RAM. It runs Android 4.4 KitKat with oppo’s in-house ColorOS 2.0.1 UI on top. It sports an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, along with a 2-megapixel front camera.
It is a dual-SIM device, with support for connectivity features such as 2G, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and A-GPS. There is 8GB of internal storage on-board, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card. It is backed by a 2,000mAh battery with power-saving mode that makes it go for longer period. The latest Oppo Neo 5 is available in Sapphire Blue and Crystal White colors, for a price of Rs. 9,990.
Commenting on the new launch, Tom Lu, CEO, OPPO Mobiles India said, Apart from urban India, OPPO is focusing on rural markets as well as Indian market’s major population lies in rural areas which are a huge market in itself.
