Over the past one year or so, a lot of new smartphone brands have launched in India. Motorola, Xiaomi, OnePlus, Vivo, Nubia, you name it. Now, one more optimistic smartphone brand from China has announced a partnership with an e-commerce company, which seems to be a strategy these days. The company recently announced its entry into the Indian smartphone market as Coolpad Dazen.
Today, Coolpad Dazen, a famous smartphone brand from China, has announced an exclusive partnership with Snapdeal. Coolpad Dazen is expected to bring value-for-money 4G LTE smartphones in India, competing the likes of Xiaomi, Lenovo, Yu, Asus, and others.
The Indian smartphone consumer today is consistently pushing the envelope on value proposition. With Coolpad Dazen, we want to lead the next wave of disruption in the Indian smartphone market, with high quality devices, game-changing specs and innovation designed specially for our Indian customers. This is possible because of our relentless focus on innovation with our in-house R&D and immense manufacturing scale.
- Varun Sharma, India CEO, Coolpad Dazen
The company holds more than 6000 patents and produces more than 60 million smartphones every year. Its smartphones come with custom CoolLife UI, on top of Android, similar to its Chinese rivals. It will be interesting to see how these Chinese smartphone brands compete with each other, as well as YU, a subsidiary brand of Micromax, which focusses on online only strategy to sell smartphones, and relies on the famous Cyanogen OS for its software and UI.
We are excited to be partnering with one of China’s leading smartphone manufacturers, Coolpad as they enter the Indian market. The brand is renowned for high quality products and has been first-to-market with many innovations including curved screen phone, dual rear camera and unibody inside phone. At Snapdeal, we are committed to making Coolpad’s maiden launch in India a big success. We are positive that we will see a tremendous response from our wide user base towards this launch.
