Samsung usually has a pretty clean record when it comes to providing regular updates for its devices. It has already begun updating its yesteryear mid-rangers and flagships with Android 5.0 Lollipop. Galaxy S4 Mini, the almost two-year old mid-ranger won't be getting Android 5.0 Lollipop as per the latest piece of information.
Many of you who own the device may be disappointed but the flipside of the coin is that the device had been around for quite a while and the chances of it getting the update were anyhow bleak. The news comes in from a UK where a telecom operator, Three, has stated through social media that the TouchWiz UI of the Android Lollipop was quite memory hungry. This made it difficult for the device's specs to cope up with and provide a smooth user experience.
Samsung too has confirmed the report. The Galaxy S4 Mini will remain on Android 4.4 KitKat and it performs just fine on it. Let us do a quick recap of what the Galaxy S4 Mini has on offer:

You can find much better devices at this price point and the Galaxy S4 Mini was never a brisk seller either. If you own one and feel that Android 4.4 KitKat is a thing of the past, well, it's time to upgrade.
