Xiaomi Redmi 2 to go on sale today in India at 2PM via Flipkart

Xiaomi Redmi 2, the successor to hugely successful Redmi 1S, will go on sale today in India. The device will be available for purchase at 2PM via Flipkart, and one needs to have registered earlier to take part in the flash sale.

The Xiaomi Redmi 2 features a 4.7-inch HD IPS LCD display, MIUI 6 based on Android 4.4.4 KitKat, 64-bit quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB ROM, microSD card slot, 4G LTE network compatibility with both its SIM card slots, and a 2,200 mAh battery with Quick Charge 1.0. It also features an 8-megapixel primary camera with autofocus, LED flash, 1080p video recording, and a 2-megapixel secondary camera with 720p HD video recording abilities.

The device supports both the 4G LTE bands in India – 1800 MHz and 2300 MHz – and is thinner, lighter, and features less bezel than its predecessor, the Xiaomi Redmi 1S.
