Lenovo’s mid-range iPhone 6 replica, the ‘Sisley’ S90 launched in China

A Lenovo smartphone, which bores a stark resemblance to the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus, was stopped last month by the Chinese certification site TENAA. The similarity was so precise, that it pushed us into a dilemma, whether world’s third biggest handset market would really let such device out, but to our surprise, the Lenovo “Sisley” S90 has been officially launched in China today.

According to the images, the S90 looks like a replica (in terms of outlook) of the Apple iPhone 6, which was unveiled two months ago by Apple. Right from the narrowness to the curvy edges and the white antenna streaks, the device seems to be alarmingly inspired from Apple’s flagship device. Furthermore, to top it all, Lenovo is promoting the Sisley S90 smartphone pretty much like Apple.

In terms of specifications, the Sisley S90 comes with a 5-inch HD AMOLED screen, a quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor, and 1GB of RAM. The phone sports a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera. The device runs on Android 4.4.4 KitKat and will be retailing in China for 1,999 RMB (Rs 20,000). As of now, Lenovo is uncertain about launching S90 outside of China.

Lenovo seems to have gone over board with S90’s design and questionable inspiration. However, it will be interesting to sight Cupertino’s answer to it. After shutting its acquisition of Motorola, Lenovo is presently world’s third largest smartphone manufacturer after Samsung and Apple.
