Tata Docomo Wi-Fi has just been featured in the Limca Book of records as the first service provider to enable Wi-Fi in an entire stadium at Bangalore and create the largest Wi-Fi hotspot at the 2014 Auto Expo. The telecom service provider made this achievement by tying up with Royal Challengers Bangalore during this year’s IPL season.

It Wi-Fi enabled the Chinnaswamy Stadium at Bangalore which allowed 36,000 fans to access the Wi-Fi at the same time. In order to ensure that decent data speeds were present throughout the stadium, a banwith of 600 Mbps was used.  The users were required to put in their details to log in and a record was there in the making.

Earlier this year, it also made the India’s Largest Wi-Fi Hotspot at the 2014 Auto Expo. It covered an approximate area of 100,000 square metres across 16 halls, fine dining zones, food court, media and VIP zones.

Tata Docomo Wi-Fi put in over 10 km of Fibre, 220+ access points and 100+ Network elements to make this a viable option. The back end support of the service provider keeps on working overtime in such events to ensure their success. Let us what other records the future has in store.
