Lenovo’s net income has witnessed a rise of 23% and smartphone shipments grew by 39%. Taking into account that the PC business constitutes around 82% of company’s total sales, we can get an idea of how well the company is doing in all segments. Lenovo is a well-known brand in Asia and Europe and some other markets as well. When Lenovo bought Motorola Mobility from Google, it created a way to enter the North American markets as well.

This China-based company seems buckled-up to launch a high end Android smartphone that will go by the name X2. The company will supposedly launch two versions of the X2 according to a certification from TENAA which is a Chinese equivalent of FCC (Federal Communications Commission). The listing shows 2 versions of the device, X2-CU and X2-TO. the dimensions and design are identical of both of the devices, as most of the specifications are. The design of both the smartphones seems to be sleek and premium, just like something Sony would craft, a strange resemblance.

Lenovo X2 Leaked Specifications

  • 5-inch IPS LCD display, 1920 x 1080 pixels
  • Android 4.4 KitKat operating system
  • Octa-core MediaTek processor (X2-CU)/2.2GHz dual-core processor (X2-TO)
  • 2GB of RAM and 16/32GB of internal storage
  • 13-megapixel rear camera, autofocus, LED flash, 1080p video recording and 5-megapixel front camera

These devices will probably be launched in China first and will gradually find their way to the rest of the Asian markets. There is no report on its release date and we don’t even know if Lenovo plans to bring either of these smartphone models to the other non-Asian markets. Specification-wise, both the phones look capable and promising.  Would you buy either version of these devices if they become available in India with an affordable price-tag?
