Panasonic Eluga U Android smartphone launched in India for Rs 18,990

Panasonic Eluga U has just been launched in India with a price tag of Rs 18,990. It comes with a 5 inch IPS LCD screen, 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage and is pre-loaded with Android 4.4 KitKat. There's a 13MP autofocus camera on the back and a 2MP camera on the front.

Panasonic has managed to sneak some neat software tricks and functionalities with the Eluga U; Kwick Lock (double tap to wake up the device), Gesture controls, Pop I player and Music CafeIt. Also, Panasonic says that its custom UI makes it easier for a user to operate the device with a single hand. But it would have been great if Panasonic had launched it in Rs 10,000-12,000 price bracket. But the device is already available on various online stores for about Rs 17,000-17,500.
