All the major Indian smartphone brands are in the process of preparing their Windows Phone devices. Microsoft showcased their new device partners earlier this year. The list included Indian smartphone brands; Micromax, Xolo, Lava and Karbonn. Even Chinese smartphone brands such as Gionee, Lenovo and Huawei which are already selling Android smartphones in India.

Micromax has sent out media invites for the launch of their first ever Windows Phone smartphones. Times Of India mentions that Micromax might launch two Windows Phone 8.1 powered devices today (16th June, 2014). The first device might be equipped with a Snapdragon 200 processor and priced as low as Rs 6,000 while the second device might be equipped with Snapdragon 400 processor with a price tag of Rs 10,000.

Micromax is also said to be working on a high-end Windows Phone device that features a 5 inch 1080p screen, Snapdragon 800 SoC, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB internal storage, 13 MP rear camera and a 5 MP front-facing camera. But it might not be launched tomorrow. But there are already some great Windows Phone devices from Nokia at attractive price points. It remains to be seen how Micromax plans to tackle Nokia, which is now owned by Microsoft, the creator of Windows Phone.
