Foxconn confirms next generation iPhones with 4.7 and 5.5 inch displays

Foxconn, Apple's production partner for long has just made an official statement that is expected to displease the Cupertino-based giant. Foxconn has just stated in an official press release that it is manufacturing the next generation of iPhone in two variants: 4.7 inches and 5.5 inches which confirms the fact that Apple is indeed working on a bigger iPhone and a phablet.

Foxconn has said that it will be providing about 70 percent of the total 4.7 inch iPhones by 2015 and that it's facility it Zhengzhou will begin the shipments in July for the iPhone 6, thus hinting towards an August-September launch. The production for 5.5 inch units will begin in August which means that their launch could be delayed towards the fag end of the current year.

The 4-inch iPhone will remain on sale and will be driving volumes alongside  the 4.7 inch units this year. Apple always tries to keep its devices under the wraps before the launch and such a huge announcement from their longtime partner isn't something good for a better future relationship. It had previously stated that it will be manufacturing 90 million units of the iPhone 6 this year without stating as to how much will be constituted by what device in terms of screen size.
