Nokia’s Android smartphone Nokia X Launched in India at Rs 8,599

Nokia today announced its first forked Android smartphone, the Nokia X, at Rs. 8,599 for the Indian market.

Nokia is the highly customized version of Android, based on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) comes with a 4-inch IPS capacitive display, powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon dual-core processor paired with 512MB of RAM, 3MP camera and Dual SIM (GSM - 3G).

The device has 4GB of internal storage and tile-based user interface inspired by Nokia Lumia smartphones. It supports Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS with A-GPS, EDGE, GPRS and 3G connectivity options and will be available in bright green, bright red, cyan, yellow, black and white.

Nokia doesn't have Google Play Store, however user can download all Android Apps from Nokia’s App store that boasts a combination of its own and Microsoft’s.

With the purchase of any Nokia X  smartphone, customers will free cloud storage using OneDrive and one month of Skype’s Unlimited World Subscription for a limited time.
