Uninor today announced the launch of its much awaited GPRS services for its prepaid subscribers across the nine states of UP, Uttaranchal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Orissa, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh as an initial launch offer Uninor is offering free GPRS service till May 6.
Subsequently, data services will be available through a base plan with tariff of 10p per 10kb. Customers will also be able to access the service through two products – myconnect 9 priced at Rs. 9 that’s valid for 3 days and allows free browsing upto 60MB and myconnect 90 priced at Rs. 90 that’s valid for 30 days with 3GB of free browsing.
For both plans, usage beyond free data will be charged at 10p per 10kb. MMS service on Uninor will be charged at Rs. 5 per MMS.
As soon as a Uninor SIM is inserted into the phone gprs settings will be sent via OTA . Uninor has made its wap portal simpler and one can find only 6 icons on the homepage with loads of content behind them.
