Smartphone brands in India are increasing the cost of their devices due to the ongoing supply chain issue. Likewise, Oppo has increased the price of two of its devices - the Oppo A54 and Oppo F19 by Rs 1,000. Oppo follows the footprint of Realme and Xiaomi that have hiked the pricing of their smartphones in the country. Notably, both these smartphones from the Chinese brand entered the Indian market in April following their global launch.
Oppo A54, Oppo F19 Revised Pricing
The Oppo A54 price in India has been launched in three storage variants in India - 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM, 4GB RAM + 128GB ROM and 6GB RAM + 128GB ROM. All these variants received a price hike in India in July. Now, only the entry-level variant with 4GB RAM + 64GB has got a price hike costing Rs 14,990, which is up from its previous cost of Rs 13,990. Notably, the device was launched for Rs 13,490 and got a price hike of Rs 500 in July. The other two variants have not received a price hike now.
On the other hand, the Oppo F19 was launched in a single storage option with 6GB RAM + 128GB ROM. The recent price hike has increased its cost from Rs 18,990 to Rs 19,990. Both the price hikes are reflected across the online retailers Flipkart, Amazon and the official Oppo online store.
Other Smartphones That Got Price Hike
Previously, we saw Realme smartphones such as Realme 8, Realme 8 GB, Realme C11 (2021), Realme C25 and Realme C21 receive a price hike of Rs 1,500. Soon after Realme, Xiaomi hiked the cost of the Redmi 9, Redmi 9 Prime, Redmi 9 Power, Redmi 9i, Redmi Note 10S, and Redmi Note 10T 5G by up to Rs 500.
Notably, these price hikes are here to prevail for a few more months or a year as there is a supply chain issue resulting in a shortage of component prices. This issue was caused by the COVID-19 pandemic that made the whole world come to a standstill. It has affected the component makers across the world including the industry major TMSC.
