Indosat and Google Cloud Partner to Launch Sovereign Cloud Services in Indonesia
Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (IOH) Group has teamed up with Google Cloud to introduce sovereign cloud and edge cloud services in Indonesia, tailored to meet the country’s stringent data residency, security, and privacy regulations. Indosat and Google Cloud today announced an expanded partnership, under which Indosat Group plans to offer Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) to organisations in Indonesia to meet the unique demands of organisations that want to run AI and data-intensive workloads at their location of choice.

Targeting Key Sectors

According to the official release, the collaboration targets key sectors such as defence, healthcare, financial services, energy and utilities, and manufacturing, empowering them with AI and analytics tools while ensuring full control over sensitive data.

Flexible Solutions with GDC

GDC provides a fully managed solution with flexible software services, diverse hardware options, and the ability to operate disconnected from the public internet or connected across edge locations, the official release said. IOH plans to offer on-premises hosting via its data centers, adhering to Indonesia’s legal requirements, including the Personal Data Protection Law.
