Bharti Airtel Launches New Long-Validity Plan of Rs 597 for 168 Days: Here’s What You Get

Bharti Airtel has silently introduced a new long-validity prepaid tariff plan of Rs 597, aimed at voice-calling users, but it also comes with data and SMS benefits. The plan is valid for 168 days from the date of recharge, that’s slightly unusual from the country’s leading telecom operator as it’s currently offering only one plan with such validity under Rs 1,000. Before we get to the benefits provided by the tariff plan, here’s the major catch as always- this Rs 597 prepaid plan is also valid for select users at the moment and may not be launched as an open market plan. Also, this plan has been introduced only for prepaid customers and the myPlan Infinity postpaid plans remain the same.

Moving onto the benefits of the plan, Airtel offers unlimited voice calls without any FUP limit, 100 SMS per day which in turn makes the overall SMS benefit as 16,800. Lastly, users will also get 10GB of data benefit with this tariff plan, which is very low in today’s age of heavy data plans, but as mentioned, this plan is aimed at voice calling users and not data-savvy users. This plan comes with a validity of 168 days.

Also, there’s no limit on when to use the data benefit like the Rs 995 plan. Speaking of the Rs 995 plan, this is the only Airtel plan for long-validity customers as it offers benefits for 180 days. The Rs 995 prepaid plan also gives unlimited voice calls without any limit, 100 SMS per day and 1GB data per month, which makes it 6GB data benefit for the entire validity period.

So the all-new Rs 597 plan is a better proportion when compared to the Rs 995 plan as it comes with more data benefit and more importantly, no data limit on a monthly basis.

Reliance Jio also has a long-validity plan of Rs 999 with which it’s offering unlimited voice calls, 100 SMS per day and 60GB of 4G data for a period of 90 days from the date of recharge. Airtel’s Rs 597 plan comes with better validity than Jio’s Rs 999 plan, but the latter edges out in terms of open market availability and data benefit, while Airtel manages the voice and SMS benefits.

It’s the time AVOID stop it’s wastage of spectrum on 3G, since 2015 or so 3G only devices were almost stopped shipping.

Even if avoid shift to all 4G & 2G, a few hundred thousand phone will become absolute that too 5-6 year old phones. They have very good chunks of spectrum in B1 & B8 they’re wrong on absolute 3G

Many times 4g devices also swicth back to 3g network based on coverage. Actually 3g speed is better than 4g speed in our area. airtel introduced 3g and 4g together in our area. before that they were having just 2g and was doing icr with idea. Running 3g and 4g parellel networks would help to avoid congestion . If 3g was outdated technically airtel would have simply introduced 4g only, during a 4g era, but they introduced both at the same time..coveragewise 4g is poor…
