Bharti Airtel Unveils Rs 597 Prepaid Plan With 168 days Validity

Bharti Airtel has launched a Rs 597 prepaid plan offering benefits for 168 days. Airtel is offering all the three benefits of voice calls, SMS and data for the entire validity period, but this plan is aimed at heavy voice-calling users. Airtel's long-validity plan of Rs 597, which is valid for select users gives the users unlimited voice calling without any FUP limit. The telco is offering unlimited voice calls without any limit with all its combo prepaid plans, and the Rs 597 plan falls under the same category. But the major disappointment with this plan is the availability, which is limited by Airtel for select users.

The plan is valid for 168 days from the date of recharge, that’s slightly unusual from the country’s leading telecom operator as it’s currently offering only one plan with such validity under Rs 1000. Moving onto the details of the plan, Airtel offers unlimited voice calls without any FUP limit, 100 SMS per day which in turn makes the overall SMS benefit as 16,800. Lastly, users will also get 10GB of data benefit with this tariff plan, which is very low in today’s age of heavy data plans, but as mentioned, this plan is aimed at voice calling users and not data-savvy users. This plan comes with a validity of 168 days.

Also, there's no limit on when to use the data benefit like the Rs 995 plan. Speaking of the Rs 995 plan, this is the only Airtel plan for long-validity customers as it offers benefits for 180 days. The Rs 995 prepaid plan also gives unlimited voice calls without any limit, 100 SMS per day and 1GB data per month, which makes it 6GB data benefit for the entire validity period.

So the all-new Rs 597 plan is a better proportion when compared to the Rs 995 plan as it comes with more data benefit and more importantly, no data limit on a monthly basis.

Reliance Jio also has a long-validity plan of Rs 999 with which it's offering unlimited voice calls, 100 SMS per day and 60GB of 4G data for a period of 90 days from the date of recharge. Airtel's Rs 597 plan comes with better validity than Jio's Rs 999 plan, but the latter edges out in terms of open market availability and data benefit, while Airtel manages the voice and SMS benefits.
