The fast-paced rollout of 5G in India has facilitated the growth of 5G phone shipments. So much so that India is now only second to China in overall 5G phone shipments. The data has been shared by Counterpoint Research. As per the report, India surpassed the United States of America (USA) in overall 5G phone shipments. Globally, Apple led the 5G phone shipments accounting for 25% of the market share. The craze and love for iPhones is real! The strong shipments of the iPhone 15 and iPhone 14 series allowed Apple to achieve this figure.

Increasing options in the affordable 5G phone segment have expanded the market at a faster pace. Brands such as Xiaomi, Vivo, Samsung, OPPO, and more have contributed to the growth of India's 5G phone shipments. Globally, just behind Apple was Samsung with a 21% market share. Samsung's Galaxy A series and the S24 series helped with growth in shipment. Amongst the top 10 5G devices in the globe, five were from Apple and five from Samsung. No other brand could enter this space.

Amongst the top 5, four were claimed by Apple. Asia-Pacific saw tremendous growth in 5G phone shipments as more users were upgrading to 5G devices for the first time. However, the growth in numbers will now come in the more mass-premium segment as users are spending more money on their devices.
