BSNL Launches 3G Mobile Services In Kodaikanal (Tamilnadu)

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) announced the launch of its much awaited 3G mobile services at tourist hot-spot Kodaikanal city of Madurai SSA in the state of Tamilnadu.

The BSNL 3G Services will provide High quality multimedia features like video calling, high speed Internet browsing through Mobile phone/Data Cards and also subscribers can enjoy Live Mobile TV, Video SMS, & VoIP services on our 3G Compatible mobile phone.




Speaking on the launch of 3G services, K.V. Sanjeevi, GM BSNL Madurai SSA said "BSNL 3G Mobile services is first of its kind in Madurai SSA and fifth place in the Tamilnadu telecom circle.He added that the main objective of launching the 3G services in Kodaikanal was to provide better service not only to residents of Kodaikanal but also to tourists from different places across India."

Mr Sanjeevi also announced that the next generation 3G mobile and Data services will be launched  in Madurai, Dindigul and Theni districts with in next few days. The core UMTS network is almost ready in Madurai and presently 67 BTS (mobile towers) are 3G enable and another 33 BTS will be installed before the commercial launch of the 3G services in Madurai.
Apart from this nine new 3G BTS will be installed in Dindigul, besides the existing 10 towers and Theni will have two more towers, besides the existing four 3G mobile towers to provide seamless connectivity across the city and surrounding areas.

The New 3G SIM Card will cost Rs.59 and it is available at all BSNL CSC as well as BSNL distributors. After the activation of sim card new prepaid subscribers needs to recharges their account with FRC120 while the existing 2G subscriber can take this plan just by one SMS from their BSNL mobile. As an introductory offer 3G service subscribers will get 50 free video calls and free Data usage up to 25 Mb. Beyond free usage Local Voice and Video calls will be charged at just 30 paisa per minute and All STD video calls will cost 50 paisa

The 2G prepaid mobile subscribers can migrate to 3G service by one SMS M3G120 to 53733 while for postpaid subscriber can send M3G25 to 53733, after confirmation SMS, 3G service will be activated.
