In the past few weeks, Redmi K20 has been the victim of many leaks, rumours and speculations, but finally, after a long wait, we’re past that stage and are getting to see some official images from the brand itself. The Chinese OEM has shared the first image of the rear of the phone in red colour, and this reveals the triple rear camera setup of the Redmi K20 along with its attractive design. Here are all the details about the Redmi K20 which have been officially confirmed by the company.
Optical In-Display Fingerprint Sensor and AMOLED on Redmi K20
It is worth noting that Redmi has already announced the launch date of this phone, and a few days after that the Xiaomi sub-brand also confirmed that the Redmi K20 would come with an AMOLED screen. Not only this, but Redmi said that the phone would also sport the seventh generation in-display fingerprint sensor with 3P lens making it equivalent to a 7.2?m macro camera. These specifications of the in-display fingerprint sensor make it 100% higher than the previous generation’s photosensitive area, and the photosensitive surface area is also increased by 15%. Thus the sensitivity of the screen to catch the fingerprint optical signal has been increased significantly. Further, this upgraded hardware will be combined with the DSP algorithm to render a 10% better unlock speed along with a 30% better success rate under low temperature, dry fingers, bright light and more.
Redmi President Lu Weibing has also praised the new in-display fingerprint sensor and has touted improved performance on the device. However, the users who tested the phone said that the brightness of the fingerprint area seems to be more at night. Based on which, the engineers optimised the fingerprint area light from green to cyan and added the ability to adjust the brightness of the fingerprint area at night dynamically.
Company Confirms 4,000mAh Battery on Redmi K20
The company has also confirmed the 4000mAh battery on the Redmi K20, and it will come with AI intelligent power saving which will be able to manage the power consumption in application and games. Also, when users go to sleep, the phone will also go to sleep to optimise battery consumption and preserve power.
Other confirmed specifications of the Redmi K20 include the Snapdragon 855 SoC, 48MP rear camera and a pop-up selfie camera. Some of the rumours of the phone have hinted towards 6.39-inch Full HD+ display, up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, MIUI 10 based on Android 9 Pie, 48MP primary rear camera with Sony IMX586 sensor, 8MP telephoto lens, 13MP ultra-wide angle lens, 20MP pop-up front camera and support for 27W fast charging.
