Coolpad Mega 5, Mega 5C and Mega 5M Smartphones Launched in India, Prices Start at Rs 4,999

After Micromax, it seems like Coolpad is looking to make a re-entry into the Indian market. After the Coolpad Mega 5A, the smartphone maker has now launched three other smartphones of the Mega 5 series including the Coolpad Mega 5, 5C and 5M. All these three smartphones belong to the budget segment category and will compete against the Redmi phones in India. As for the availability, all the three Coolpad Mega 5, Mega 5C and Mega 5M phones will be available across offline retail stores, across major outlets in India. The Coolpad Mega 5 has been launched for a starting price of Rs 6,999, while the Mega 5C will retail at Rs 4,999. Of late, Coolpad has been launching smartphones exclusively for the offline market and the new launches remain the same.

Coolpad Mega 5: Specifications and Features

The Coolpad Mega 5 comes with a screen that measures 5.7-inches and offers a FullVision HD+ Resolution with an aspect ratio of 18:9. On the hardware front, the phone runs on MediaTek MT6739 quad-core processor paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage expandable up to 64GB via microSD card. The Coolpad Mega 5 runs Android 8.1 Oreo and is backed by a 3000mAh battery. The phone also includes some of the features from expensive phones like Face Unlock and rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.

On the camera front, the Coolpad Mega 5 comes with dual rear camera setup which includes a primary sensor of 13MP and secondary sensor of 0.3MP. The camera is further paired with LED flash for clicking clearer pictures in low light. On the front, the Coolpad Mega 5 comes with a 5MP selfie camera. In India, the phone will be available in three colours — Blue, Gold and Dark Grey.

Coolpad Mega 5C: Specifications and Features

The Coolpad Mega 5C comes packed with a 5.45-inch FullVision HD+ display and includes dual SIM support as well as a dedicated microSD slot. This means users will be able to use two SIM cards together with a microSD card. On the hardware front, the phone is powered by a 1.3GHz processor paired with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of storage which can be expandable up to 32GB via microSD card. The phone also comes with Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box, 2500mAh battery, 5MP camera on both front and back side. Just like Mega 5, the Mega 5C also comes with Face Unlock support but sadly doesn’t include a fingerprint sensor to unlock the phone.
