The other two smartphones which received a price cut are Redmi Note 5 Pro and Mi A2, both by Rs 1,000. The Redmi Note 5 Pro also comes in two variants- 4GB+64GB and 6GB+64GB. Xiaomi Continues to Lead the Indian Smartphone Market

Several research firms are coming up with their reports of how Indian brands performed in Q3, 2018. The popular firm, International Data Corporation (IDC), yesterday revealed its report and said that Xiaomi shipped a total of 11.7 million smartphones in Q3 2018. Furthermore, the Chinese handset maker secured a market share of 27.3% during the quarter, way ahead of Samsung which is placed in the second spot.

Xiaomi Increases the Prices of Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A in India

As we already know, Xiaomi operates with a very small profit margin which is the reason why the Chinese company is able to achieve those insane price tags. Recently, Xiaomi hiked the prices of five products in India. As for the smartphones, the Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A received a price hike of Rs 500 and Rs 600 respectively. The base variant of Redmi 6 is now available for Rs 8,499, while the same of Redmi 6A can be purchased for Rs 6,599 in the country. Xiaomi also hiked the prices of Mi Power Bank 2i and Mi TV Pro (32-inch and 49-inch variants).
