Huawei through its sub-brand Honor has launched two new phones in India last week – The Honor 7A and the Honor 7C. The Honor 7A has finally made its way into the Indian markets, as the phone will start selling today exclusively on Flipkart from 12 PM onwards. The budget device is most likely going to come with many offers on Flipkart’s behalf, to make the deal more interesting. One of the point which might attract the buyers is that the device is going to retail on Flipkart at Rs 2,000 lower than the market price which means that for people buying the phone online it is only going to cost them Rs 8,999 instead of Rs 10,999. Besides this, the website will also offer 5% discount to people who will buy the phone through Axis Bank Debit card, these buyers will also be eligible for the Rs 2,000 discount.
Honor 7A Specifications
The Honor 7A sports a 5.7-inch HD+ IPS LCD display which renders a resolution of 720 × 1440 pixels. The phone runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor under the hood. On the memory front, the device sports 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage, although there is an option of storage expansion using microSD card.
In the imaging department, the phone sports a dual camera setup comprising of a 13MP primary shooter and a 2MP secondary shooter which come with AI features and the expected bokeh mode. On the front, there is an 8MP shooter accompanied by a soft flashlight.
Besides sporting a face unlock feature Honor has also given us a fingerprint sensor on the rear of the device. The battery on the device is a 3000mAh one. Connectivity options like dual-SIM card slots, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS, and GLONASS are also present. Lastly, the phone runs on Android 8.0 Oreo with the EMUI 8.0 on top of it.
When you compare the Honor 7A with Xiaomi Redmi 5, the latter sports a much powerful Snapdragon 450 SoC, but comes with a single rear camera. Also, the Face Unlock feature is missing on the Redmi 5, which could be a deal breaker for some. But we suggest you to pick the Redmi 5's 3GB RAM variant ahead of the Honor 7A.
