The Glass-Clad Nokia X6 With a Notch and Snapdragon 636 SoC Officially Introduced

HMD Global, the Nokia brand licensee, finally launched its new mid-range smartphone the Nokia X6 in China today. The smartphone is the first from Nokia series to feature iPhone X-like notched display design. The launch event in Beijing began at 1:00 PM IST and live streaming of the event was available on China’s JD.com and Tmall. The Nokia X6 may not make its way to the Indian market anytime soon, but if it launches in the country, it will be priced over Rs 20,000 and will be placed between Nokia 6.1 and Nokia 7 plus.

Nokia X6 Price
The Nokia X6 is officially priced at CNY 1,299 (approx. Rs 13,800) for the base 4GB RAM + 32GB storage variant and CNY 1,499 (approx. Rs 16,000) for the 4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage variant. The top model with 6GB RAM+ 64GB onboard storage carries a price tag of CNY 1,699 (approx. Rs 18,100). The smartphone will be available on JD.com, Suning.com, and Tmall.com, with reservations opening today.

Nokia X6 Specifications
The Nokia X6 features a 5.8-inch FHD+ (1080 x 2280 pixels) display with 19:9 aspect ratio and 2.5D curved glass. Beneath the surface, the handset holds the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC. The octa-core processor is paired with either of 6GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB storage options along with microSD card expansion.

The Nokia X6 features a dual camera configuration comprising 16MP primary and 5MP monochrome sensor with EIS along with HDR and Bokeh mode. Up front, the device houses a 16MP selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture and supports Face Unlock.

Nokia also touts presence of AI integration for improved photography with image recognition to deliver better results. The phone also offers the Bothie feature, letting users utilise both front and rear cameras simultaneously.

Connectivity options on Nokia X6 include dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a USB Type-C port. Powering the phone is a non-removable Li-Ion 3,060mAh battery with support for Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging technology. The Nokia X6 will run Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.

There is no information regarding launch in India as HMD Global has not confirmed details of the Nokia X6 launch for global markets at this point.
