Last week, we received the news that Xiaomi was starting to ship the Stable update for the MIUI 9.5 Global build after the testing of the Nightly version. Indian users of Mi phones now have a reason to rejoice as Xiaomi has finally started rolling out the Stable build of MIUI 9.5 NCFMIFA to the Indian phones. In total, 30 Xiaomi phones, including the Mi 3 and Redmi 3, which although are quite old devices, will receive this update regardless using the OTA (Over the Air) method. The ROM is especially expected to improve performance and, bring optimisations and bug fixes to the Redmi Note 5.

Xiaomi unveiled the Redmi Note 5 in India in February which became the successor its previous iteration of the Redmi series, the Redmi Note 4. Out of the box, the device was running on Android Nougat 7.0 with the MIUI 9 built on top. The phone which has been selling in China with the name of Redmi Note 5 Plus, is one of the hottest devices to be launched in the Indian market at this point of time. The price of the device is also very affordable with it being priced at Rs 9,999 and Rs 11,999 for the 3GB and 4GB variant respectively.

The latest update which is the MIUI 9.5 is built on top of Android Nougat 7.0. The Redmi Note 4 did receive the Nightly build of the same UI some time ago, but the Redmi Note 5 on the other hand directly received the Stable ROM in the final rollout.

The latest update to the Xiaomi phones which is named as the MIUI 9.5.3.0.NEGMIFA comes with some very interesting additions in the list of features which include quick search options, the option to resume interrupted transfers in the Mi Mover app without starting over, an optimised browser kernel, a revamped start page, sound recording options for the screen recorder app, and more. Further, the entire changelog and technical aspects of this latest update have been put up on the Mi thread on the official website.

The update is expected to reach the Indian users in a matter of few days, and like we mentioned the update will take place over the OTA method. Also, there will be other ways for users if they wish to update their phones faster. Redmi Note 5 users can check for updates by going into Settings tapping on the About phone option and then going to System updates. There is also the option for flashing the ROM using recovery method (file size of 1.4GB) or via fastboot method (file size of 2GB) for the techies and advanced users.
