It's been that kind of a day for BBK Electronics-owned brands. Hours after Oppo launching its flagship smartphones, Vivo has now announced two new smartphones- Vivo X21 and Vivo X21 UD. Both the devices feature exactly similar specifications, minus the presence of in-display fingerprint scanner on the X21 UD variant. Also, the Vivo X21 sports a notch at the top of the display, much like several other smartphones launching these days. With the Vivo X21, the company is introducing its own AI assistant dubbed Jivi AI, and the phone also uses Snapdragon 660 AIE SoC to take care of the advanced Artificial Intelligence features.

The Vivo X21 flaunts a 6.28-inch display with a resolution of 2280 × 1080 pixels (Full HD+). Vivo is also claiming a screen-to-body ratio of 90.3%, thanks to the usage of the notch. Internally, the phone is powered by the Snapdragon 660 AIE SoC, coupled with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The Vivo X21 UD offers 128GB of internal storage. The standard version comes with a fingerprint sensor at the back, while the X21 UD has the scanner embedded under its display. Graphics in the smartphone are taken care by Adreno 512 GPU.

Talking about the cameras, Vivo has added a 12MP primary sensor with a f/1.8 aperture to the back, which works in tandem with a secondary 5MP depth sensor. The phone also comes with dedicated AI based camera features such as scene detection to recognise 17 different scenes. Up front, there's a 12MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture. The Vivo X21 measures 7.37mm in thickness and weighs 156.2grams.

Vivo has also added a dedicated AK4376A Hi-Fi audio chip to deliver good audio quality. Thankfully, Vivo did not skimp on the 3.5mm headphone jack. Connectivity options in the smartphone includes 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS and a USB Type-C port. The phone has a 3200mAh battery with fast charging support.
