Latest Open Beta Update for OnePlus 3, 3T Adds Auto Call Pickup Gesture

Though OnePlus is already working on its next flagship smartphone, but it hasn’t completely forgotten its older flagships. Both OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T continue to receive regular updates. Following the rollout of Android 8.1 Oreo-based Open Beta builds for OnePlus 5 and 5T, the Chinese phone maker is back with OxygenOS Open Beta builds for the OnePlus 3 and the OnePlus 3T. The OnePlus 3 received Open Beta version 32 while the OnePlus 3T finds itself on version 23. The changes appear to be same on both devices through the version number differ. However, the update doesn’t bring Android 8.1 Oreo like the OnePlus 5/5T’s latest Open Beta.

This means for the first time the Open Beta builds for the OnePlus 3/3T are based on older Android 8.0 compared to the newer version of Android available on the OnePlus 5/5T. Though the update doesn’t bring anything groundbreaking feature, but the handful of improvements are quite welcome.

Starting with the Phone app, the OnePlus 3/3T received new auto pick up gesture in that allows users to accept an incoming call just by raising their devices. So when the phone rings, you can raise the phone towards you ear to answer the call. The same gesture has been added to the other, newer OnePlus smartphones.

Another major change is the Gallery app. The new version of Gallery app (v2.5) adds a new design for Collections tab, with a new reorder function for Collections. There’s also recently deleted Collection so you can keep track of unintentionally deleted photos.
