Homegrown mobile brand, Celkon has announced Celkon UniQ budget smartphone in the country. The USP of the UniQ smartphone is the 16MP rear camera and 8MP selfie camera with LED flash support. This phone from Celkon takes on the likes of Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, Moto E4 Plus, and Tenor G smartphones. The phone also offers Airtel VoLTE support as per official Airtel website. Celkon is yet to reveal the availability details of the smartphone though.
Celkon UniQ Features and Specifications
Specifications wise, the Celkon UniQ is an overpriced product, besides the fact you get a 16MP rear camera. But as we always say, megapixels don't matter. The Celkon UniQ rocks a 16MP rear camera, and an 8MP sensor is present on the front. Both the cameras have support for LED flashlight to capture good-looking images even in low-light conditions.
The Celkon UniQ smartphone flaunts a 5-inch HD display with a resolution of 720x1280 pixels and 2.5D curved glass on top. It is powered by an unspecified 1.3GHz quad-core chipset, which most likely will be a MediaTek chipset. The chipset is mated to 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage and has a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 128GB.
The UniQ device offers 4G LTE and VoLTE support. It boots Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box, and Celkon did not reveal its plans of Android 8.0 Oreo update to the phone. This entire package is backed by a 2700mAh battery, and the phone offers basic sensors such as Proximity, Ambient Light sensor. It has a micro USB port at the bottom for charging and data transfer. The phone also offers a fingerprint scanner at the front.
Celkon UniQ Pricing and Availability
The Celkon UniQ is priced at Rs 8,999 in the Indian market and goes head on head with popular phones such as Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, Tecno Camon i, Tenor G and Moto E4 Plus. The on-paper specs of the UniQ smartphone don't impress. Also, Celkon did not reveal the availability of the phone, but most probably expect it to be an offline-only model.
