Samsung has sort of confirmed the existence of a Samsung foldable smartphone. For the last one year or so, Samsung is reportedly said to be working on a foldable smartphone. A proper foldable smartphone, unlike the ZTE Axon M which has a hinge attached between two screens. The name of this upcoming Samsung smartphone is allegedly Samsung Galaxy X. Today, the product page of this smartphone went live on Samsung's official website, and yes, the device will be called as Samsung Galaxy X.
Back in September this year, a Samsung official confirmed that the company is indeed working on a foldable smartphone, which will see the light in early 2018. There are high chances that Samsung might pull wraps off the Galaxy X at the CES 2018 show. Usually, CES show is known for different innovative technologies coming into existence, and there won't be a much more significant place for the South Korean giant to unveil the foldable smartphone- Galaxy X.
Aforesaid, the Galaxy X product page went official earlier today, but sadly, it did not split any information about the smartphone, apart from the model number, which is SM-G888N0. This news was first reported by Mobiel Kopen.
The product page went official in Samsung Korean website, which clearly states that the Galaxy X will be first launched in the company's homeland South Korea. Samsung was recently said to launch the Galaxy S9 at the CES itself, and the two upcoming flagship smartphones from Samsung for 2017 are Galaxy S9 and S9+. So, there are more chances now of Samsung unveiling the Galaxy X at the same time.
To further dig in, a website named Lets Go Digital recently released a series of sketches submitted by Samsung to the Korean Intellectual Property Office. And the sketches submitted by Samsung had the same SM-G888N0 model number. So, going by this, the Galaxy X will look like the same smartphone as present in the images used in this article.
The Samsung Galaxy X will have a flip phone design with two displays, and one of the screens will be flexible. A multi-hinge will separate the two screens, not like what we have seen on the ZTE Axon M smartphone.
Also, the Galaxy X is said to be a high-end smartphone as well with features such as Snapdragon 845 SoC, 6GB of RAM, dual cameras, etc. That said, Samsung is yet to disclose details on the Galaxy X officially, which might happen in the coming days.
