Japanese brand, Sony is all geared up to launch its next flagship smartphone, the Xperia XZ1 in the Indian market tomorrow. The Xperia XZ1 was announced right before the IFA 2017 earlier this month. Alongside the Xperia XZ1, Sony also launched the Xperia XZ1 Compact and Xperia XA1 Plus.
Sony recently launched the XA1 Plus smartphone for Rs. 24,990 in the country and the launch date of the Xperia XZ1 Compact is still unknown. The Xperia XZ1 replaces the Xperia XZs smartphone, which was launched just a few months ago. Sony's business model of launching a new flagship phone for every six months didn't work in the past, and it will be interesting to see how it goes for the company going forward.
Coming back the Xperia XZ1, the launch event will take place in New Delhi and the price of the smartphone could be Rs. 51,990 or a smaller price tag would be appreciated from the company. Specifications wise, the smartphone comes with a 5.2-inch Full HD display, which also has an HDR mode, and Sony's display tech features such as X-reality Engine and TRILUMINIOUS.
The smartphone features top-notch hardware in the form of Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage. The highlight of the XZ1 is that it ships with Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. Until now, only Google Pixel and Nexus smartphones are running Android Oreo operating system. The device is backed by a 2700mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support.
Another highlight of the smartphone is the Motion Eye camera setup at the back. Sony has added a 19MP Exmor RS sensor in the smartphone, which has the capability to shoot super slow motion videos at 960fps. The rear camera can shoot 4K videos as well. Up front, the XZ1 has a 13MP selfie camera.
This is the same camera setup seen on the Xperia XZ Premium and Xperia XZs. What makes the XZ1 special is the new 3D scanning mode, which scans the object and saves it as a 3D image. What should be the price of the Xperia XZ1 according to you? Let us know by commenting below.
